DUDC October Meeting: The Merrow Foundation

Down Under Divers Club (DUDC) is the largest and longest running independent scuba club on the East Coast, and supports all local dive shops. The DUDC has a monthly meeting at Dave & Busters in Cary, with topics on some aspect of diving, travel, safety or our water environment. You do not have to be a member to come! We’ll start gathering at 6:30 PM on October 13th, at Dave & Busters in their event room. Eat, drink, and connect with fellow divers! We’ll kick off the meeting at 7:15 PM with announcements, then hear from our guest speaker. We are excited to welcome Janelle Fleming, Co-Founder of the MERROW Foundation, as our in-person guest speaker. Janelle will be joining us in person to share the Foundation's mission and the important work it is doing to protect our coastal environment. Founded in 2016 by Janelle and Jason Fleming, this North Carolina based non-profit, The MERROW Foundation (Marine Education, Research, and Recovery for Oceans Worldwide), was established as a call to action to protect and better understand the ocean environment in Carteret County and beyond. The nonprofit empowers citizen scientists of all ages to participate in meaningful research, conservation, and environmental stewardship, fostering a community dedicated to improving and studying our coastal ecosystems. Join us to learn about the Foundation's inspiring mission, its impact on marine conservation, and how individuals can play a role in protecting our oceans. We hope to see you there in person! Can’t make it? You’re welcome to join us on Teams. https://teams.live.com/meet/9349705353020?p=fRdLg6H2W4cQnccq3U
